QTruco is provided in two ways: as a source tarball (.tar.gz file), and as a Debian package (.deb file). If you use Debian (or any Debian-based distribution, like Morphix or Knoppix), you should choose the latter, as installation and desinstallation are easier.
Instructions are different for each one of the files.
tar -xvcf <filename.tar.gz>without the < and >.
cd qtruco-<version number>. This will move you to the created directory.
./configureto start configuring the code with the default options. On most platforms I would recommend to do
./configure --prefix=/usr, as it will make qtruco use the default paths.
make && make installto start compilation. This should take a while.
qtruco &to start QTruco from the command line. Good gaming!
dpkg -i <filename.deb>, without the < and >.
qtruco &to start QTruco from the command line. Good gaming!
gcc --versionto check what compiler you're using. Check
./configure --helpto check how to force other compiler (you probably have more than one GCC version in your Linux box).
